(part 2)
Salome sat there for ten minutes more, got up and cursed the skies for allowing her to be so weak, and for causing her mascara to be streaking her now rosy cheeks. She walked over to her favorite spot over the bridge and looked across the opening, towards the river that runs into the sea, and smiled a dry, cynical smile and decided to head back home. As Salomè bent to retrieve her belongings from the ground, she heard a whisper behind her and froze, the whisper carried her name and she thought, this is impossible!!
GONZALO –
Gonzalo awoke to the sounds of rain pounding on his window, followed by what he guessed was about the loudest boom of thunder he has heard up to that moment in his adult life.
He stirred but did not open his eyes, he did not want the memory to fade, because at that very moment, he experienced a half smile, half quiver of the lips, for only she had been able to awaken and inspire those emotions simultaneously. Gonzalo enjoyed the memory clips of his life with her. She had a way of making him live happy memories followed by painful realities – Sweet and Sour.
He stretched that hard body before pulling the blankets off and hopped off the bed and into the shower, after air drying, Gonzalo stood in front of the mirror and admired the reflection of his body, he was quite proud of the work he put in at the gym, for the gym became a healthy distraction.
He was the fittest he had ever been and he smiled because once again Salomé was present in his thoughts, the memories of her caressing his six pack and tracing the firmness down to his groin and fondling his manhood with both, a smile on her lips and desires of lust burning in her eyes.
He both loved, and despised thinking of her, for he believed it made him vulnerable and this type of vulnerability drove him to spend many nights trying to find her in the kisses of others, epic fail every single time.
The rain continued as he headed out the door towards the car, holding tightly to the umbrella and then, as if hypnotized by the wind, he let go, lifted his face towards the sky and spread his arms wide.
Gonzalo felt every single raindrop fall unto him, felt every music note of her laughter that would most definitely be piercing the air at this very moment had she been there to witness such a bold and unbelievable act from him. Gonzalo closed his eyes and took a long breath in, counting to seven, then he slowly breathed it out. He blew a kiss into the wind, between the raindrops, and whispered; for you Salomè.
