The bright Sunlight filled the bedroom through the slightly opened blinds, Salomè opened her eyes and smiled “Today will be Magical” she thought out loud. She whispered her prayers of Gratitude and quickly jumped out of bed, she grabbed her phone and sent a chat text to her Tribe, she needed their energy, laughter and wisdom to help her carry out her plan. She skipped into the kitchen to brewed her Cafè, foamed her milk and sat by the bay window to sip, sip, sip her delicious taza de cafe con leche, all while admiring the sway of the branches from the old tree in her yard.
Salomè showered and dressed, she chose a favorite long, summer white linen dress and accented her look with two Mala necklaces, one in Emerald, the other in Howlite stone. She slipped on her nude pair of leather wedges, wore her long, black hair pin straight, applied her tinted moisturizer, mascara & her organic lip balm. As she walked to her full length mirror, she held her Mala beads. She specifically chose these beads today, today they will be her guardians. Emerald– Emeralds are known to heal both emotional love and the physical heart, assisting one in healing negative emotions. Howlite – Howlite absorbs negative energy. A beautiful white calming stone that represents the Spiritual qualities of stillness, tenderness, and open-mindedness. Unburdens an overactive mind. She chose wisely.
Salomè grabbed her keys and over-sized bag, picked up the package and walked out the door. Once at her jeep, she placed the package in the passenger seat and tightened the seatbelt around it, one tug and yes, it was secured. She drove to the spot where she is to meet the girls for brunch, wind in her hair, Cher blasting through the speakers and a calmness in her soul.
She was the first to arrive and for those who know her know, this never, ever happens, she chuckles at her own thought and sits her ass down, orders a mimosa, takes her pad and pen out from her bag and begins a “What I want going forward” list. As she lifts her head to form a thought, she notices one of the girls have arrived, her favorite, although she will never admit this out loud. Salomè rises up from the chair and with a big, all teeth showing smile, and arms spread open she practically runs to Filomena and once they connect they wrapped each other up in their warmth and jumped up and down while holding hands, pure joy.
Filomena – The one with a conservative style of wardrobe, just blah. A natural beauty with a welcoming smile, soft eyes and trusting heart. Kind, caring and fair. A beacon of light, she is an Omega of love (no beginning – no end) a hopeless romantic.
Just as they sit down they hear a loud “hola mi tribuuu” in a melodic tone, they both smile at each other and turn to welcome La Gitana, who walks as though she is floating in her long bohemian sleeveless dress, adorned with green polka dots in vibrant orange linen. She has what seems like twenty dangling silver bracelets on one wrists and ten colorful macrame with beads on the other. She wore Silver filigree earrings emulating the intricate beauty of fine Spanish lace, earrings of stunning beauty. She arrives at the table and kisses them both on the mouth.
La Gitana – A spirit so fluid she is apparent like a blur, long silky black hair, sparkling dark eyes, filled with magic. Lover of travel, of laughter, and of spontaneity. Lover of music, dance and of love connections. She has the most contagious laugh which is filled with Divine Vibrations. Free Spirit.
Salomè calls to the waiter for the girls and Filomena orders a seltzer water while La Giana orders a Merlot. Once the drinks arrive they raise their glasses and toast the beauty of one another but, before they can swallow, Isabella enters the courtyard, sneaks up on them and screeches a loud HOLA, her entrance was different, as different as her hair color is every month. She is the one who shares the freedom of Spirit with La Gitana and the romanticism of Filomena but, her art is of the deeper spiritual connection, her art is of joining spirits as the flesh unite into one. Her Magic derives from Love Making or as she would say SEX.
Isabella – A passion-filled beauty with dark piercing eyes that would hypnotize any man, she has soft plumped lips that entices them to want to reach out to kiss and taste with urgency. Isabella has a very sultry voice that is enchanting with whispers of intense adventures. A passionate lover, a one of a kind kick ass chick.
The three embrace as they giggle with excitement in seeing one another, finally they are here together once again. They sit and to their surprise, the last of the tribe has arrived. Juanita. Salomè took a deep breath as her eyes filled with tears, comforting tears. Juanita was her rock.
Juanita – A feisty, no nonsense, quick tempered soul. Prideful and stubborn. A beautiful temptress that gets things done. She is exotic with long tresses of black satin, high cheek bones and gorgeous skin art. When she is enraged (a normal emotion for her) one can see the devil in her mysterious dark eyes, piercing, focused, determined and on fire. A ride or die spirit.
Once the hellos, hugs and profanities of love were shared – they sat, Isabella and Juanita both ordered Mimosas. They lifted the glasses and in unison said “No Mas!”
Salomè sat with her glass in hand, closed her eyes and listened to the girls laughter. It was the exact medicinal soundtrack she needed. In this moment, here with the girls, she felt whole.
Part one of two.
